Few cities compare with our City of Trees, with its scenic river, beautiful parks and outstanding recreational opportunities. That said, it is the people of Boise who truly make our city great.

Throughout our history, volunteers have been integral to our operations. The skills, knowledge and expertise they have brought to our department has allowed us to go far and above our resources. We hope that you will take a few minutes to review our list of volunteer opportunities and look forward to working in partnership with you to continue providing the high-quality parks and services our community has grown to expect from their parks and recreation department. With your help, we are sure to have many more successes.

Prior to becoming a volunteer, you will need to review the City of Boise Volunteer Handbook and either sign a hard copy waiver or register as a volunteer online. Some volunteer positions are sensitive in nature and/or involve working closely with at-risk populations, which may require you to undergo a criminal history background check.
