In 1990, the Ada County Centennial Commission developed the Boise River Historical Education Project to celebrate Idaho’s Statehood Centennial. The project was enhanced in 2013 by Boise Parks and Recreation in commemoration of Boise City’s Sesquicentennial. The project is intended to continue the tradition of protecting the beautiful natural resource of the Boise River through development of an Education Corridor along the river. Thanks to this series of interpretive signs, people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds can learn about Idaho history by walking along the Greenbelt and stopping at the various educational sites.
