Spring 2018 Greenbelt Construction Updates
As the weather warms up, more people are heading outside to enjoy the beautiful Boise River Greenbelt.
Before you plan your ride or walk with your family, it’s important to know there are several construction projects along the way.
The Boise Parks and Recreation team understands that these closures and detours can be an inconvenience, but we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the Greenbelt experience for all users.
November 6, 2017 BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION UNDER WAY AT MARIANNE WILLIAMS PARK
Construction work has started on a bridge that will connect Warm Springs Avenue to Marianne Williams Park on the south side of Harris Ranch. Because this project intersects with the Greenbelt, a section of the path will be closed throughout construction, which is expected to be completed Summer 2018. Please proceed with caution in the area and use all signed detours.
April 26, 2018 ZOO EXPANSION CONSTRUCTION
Heads up if you commute through Julia Davis Park! Due to construction of the new Gorongosa National Park Exhibit at Zoo Boise, the path that runs directly behind the zoo and along the giraffe area will be closed until further notice. Please obey all posted signs and stay out of closed areas. The nearby Greenbelt path and Friendship Bridge connection located across Julia Davis Drive will not be affected.
May 7, 2018 NEW OUTDOOR CLASSROOM CONSTRUCTION AT IDAHO ANNE FRANK HUMAN RIGHTS MEMORIAL
Access from the Greenbelt to the east side of the memorial is closed during construction. Users can still travel via 8th street, 8th street bridge and North/South along the Greenbelt. Construction is estimated to last a total of 4 months.
