Thank you for your interest in volunteering with
Boise Parks & Recreation. We offer a variety of volunteer
opportunities for you or your organization to be involved
with. These opportunities range from one time volunteer
events to ongoing year round or seasonal programs.
If you or your organization are
interested in volunteering with us, you will be required to review
the City of Boise Volunteer
Handbook and sign a volunteer waiver prior to placement.
Some volunteer positions are sensitive in nature and/or involve
working closely with at risk populations, and may require you to
undergo a criminal history background check.
There are a large variety of
opportunities across the Department, such as coaching hockey at Idaho
IceWorld; helping youth with disabilities participate in
sporting and outdoor activities in our Adaptive Recreation Program;
educating zoo visitors about the animals and their habitat or
aiding with special events at Zoo Boise; leading and preparing lessons for
school and community groups at the Jim Hall Foothills
Learning Center; and helping with park maintenance needs in
events such as Releaf Boise, Tending Our Foothills, and the Boise
Regardless of your interest, we are
