The Boise River, along with the ponds in Boise’s parks, are great fishing spots for families. Idaho Fish & Game stock many of the ponds with rainbow trout in the spring and fall. Some locations have warmwater fish such as bass and bluegill. Click here for current stock information.
Not everything you see in a river or pond is a fish. You might see amphibians, reptiles, or even crustaceans. Crawfish, also called crayfish or crawdads, are crustaceans found in Boise area streams and rivers. The photo to the right is a crawfish found in the Boise River at Ann Morrison Park.
