Adapted Swimming Lessons

Lessons are available for participants with disabilities who would like to learn swimming skills and water safety awareness. Class size is limited to 8 students. There will be two instructors teaching the classes and a lifeguard on duty at all times. Previous swimming or water experience is not necessary. Lessons will be under close supervision by the teachers, but will not be 1:1. All lessons will take place at Borah pool, 801 Aurora; an aquatic life is available at the pool.

Lifeguard Course

A lifeguard course is tentatively scheduled to be held August 5-15. Find more information about the course here.


Pool Information

"L" shaped with 25 yard length and 6 lanes in long section.

4100 square feet surface area, 220,000 water gallons.

Deep end 12 feet deep, has two one-meter diving boards.

Shallow area has step in entry and slide for ages 5 and younger.

Separate sprayground facility on NE side of pool deck.

Private Rentals

Pool may be rented for private parties any night of the week from 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. Reservations must be made and fees paid in advance. See pool party rates.


Youth Outdoor Pool Swimming Lessons

Classes are available at all outdoor pools through the Boise Parks & Recreation Stroke & Turn Aquatic Recreation program (STAR). Eight 25 minute classes are offered in two-week sessions, Monday-Thursday. Class size is limited. Registration is available on a first-come, first served basis. Pre-school classes are available to ages 3-4 years. Swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water. For all other classes students must be at least 4 years of age.
