Community Centers

Boise Parks & Recreation operates 9 Community/ Kid City centers in neighborhoods throughout the city. All of the centers provide free or low-cost programs for children, including homework assistance, art projects, games and a healthy snack. Boise Parks & Recreation partnered with Boise School District to create Garfield, Grace Jordan, Jefferson, Morley Nelson, Whitney, Hawthorne and Taft locations.  At Hawthorne Elementary, the morning program is run in partnership with the City of Boise and Treasure Valley Family YMCAFor more information, call the City Recreation Office at (208) 608-7650.

teenside.jpgAttention Teens!  TeenSide is a teenage organization that engages youth in their community through volunteer, service learning, and recreational projects. Teens meet, develop, and construct their own projects, identifying needs found in Boise and the surrounding area.
