Kids invited to compete May 23 in Hershey track & field games
Kids age 7-14 who love to run, jump and throw are invited to
participate in the Hershey Track and Field Games hosted by Boise
Parks & Recreation on Thursday, May 23 at
Borah High School, 6001 W. Cassia St.
Participants in this free event must pre-register by May 21 at
the City Recreation Office, 110 Scout Lane, Boise 83702. Office
hours are 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Field events include standing long jump and softball Throw.
Check-in begins at 3:45 p.m., events at 4:45
Track events include 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m &
4x100m relay. Check-in begins at 4:30 p.m., events at 5:30 p.m.
Athletes must be 7-14 years old as of Dec. 31, 2013.
Boys and girls compete separately in four age groups:
7-8, 9-10, 11-12 & 13-14. Participants in the 7-8 age
group compete in local and state meets only.
First- through third-place finishers at the local meet qualify
to participate in the South State meet on July 6 in Rexburg.
First-place winners at the state meet may qualify for the 36th
Annual North American Final meet Aug. 1-4 in Hershey, Penn.
The HERSHEY'S Track and Field Games is endorsed by the National
Recreation and Park Association, National Association for Sport and
Physical Education, and Athletics Canada, and has been solely
funded and sponsored by The Hershey Company since 1978.
A completed entry form and copy of birth certificate are
required at registration and may be faxed to (208) 608-7669 or
