Wheelchair Rugby

home2.jpgRecently, the AdVenture Program was awarded a large grant to purchase rugby wheelchairs and start a rugby program in the Treasure Valley. The grant funding for this program is awarded by U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, through funding provided by Veterans Affairs. The grants are provided to facilitate the growth of Paralympic sport programming for disabled Veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces.

You do not have to have a disability to play; all skill levels are welcome and rugby wheelchairs are available for use. If you are unsure about signing up for the entire session, you can drop-in for $5.  Rugby is held at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road, Boise.  To register or learn more call 208-608-7680 or e-mail AdVentureProgram@cityofboise.org.

Please view the Activity Guide Button on the left for the current wheelchair rugby schedule listed under the AdVenture Seeker section.
